I've always thought it interesting that the day celebrates the first major military campaign of Aussies and Kiwis together - and we get a day off to drink rum and beer just after sunrise
but - it was a loss
I wonder how come we don't get a day off to drink rum and beer at sunset for Long Tan day -- where we had a win, a big win.
And it was an amazing combination of guts, discipline and smarts by a cooperation of Aussies and Kiwis - not many kiwis - but, without them - we would only have a massive loss to celebrate.
