ANZAC Day is 25 April because that's the day Australian soldiers landed in Turkey.
After the British ships got sank from canon fire nd 8,000 Aussies died, it was clear the invasion of Istanbul will not be successful and the British ordered retreat.
The invasion campaign ended in a failure, planned by Winston Churchil I think.
