Leanne, if you were part of the fishing scene at recfish WA you would know that numbers of bread and butter fish, herring whiting etc have dropped throughout the state, nothing what ever to do with nets. but research is obviously not your thing
there is something very strange going on off Perth beaches and local waters, fish stocks across the board are down
but shark activity has risen dramatically . I spend most of my time on Perth waters and shark numbers are scary
I have also just returned from seven days at the Abrolhos Islands and landing a fish was more good luck than skill. again due to shark numbers. I have fished and dived that area for over thirty years and never saw sharks in such numbers, likewise around Rottnest, Carnac and Garden Islands
Something, be it water temp , current or tides is causing a major difference in our waters and those absolute dills protesting against shark culling have their collective heads up their arse, but so far its all been blokes doing 'blokey ' activities that have been taken by them, god forbid when a mum and kid are taken at Scarborough beach, then we will see gun ships flying up and down the coast
