Having mentioned the WA crayfish fishery is one of the best managed, the shark bay prawn fishery and has long been a well managed fishery.
The Gulf of Carpentaria prawn fishery is now well managed and catches greatly improved. When I fished up there, there was about 400 licences and 300 plus boats working up there. No season restriction or net size restrictions, most boat towed 4 nets and the fishery was getting decimated
