I remember that 3 day run from 4.8c to +30c very well
My key take away from that was my gut feelings were correct with PEP11 and it had been recommended for approval by NOPTA back then.

Nothing has changed - 5 quick significant facts about PEP11.

1. NOPTA The Federal Offshore title regulator recommended approval to drill on the previous application.

2. East Coast needs Gas and this is well documented. Nothing has changed within the last couple of years other than the energy landscape deteriorating even further.

3. Federal Court Judge states "the (PEP11) Application must go back to the Joint Authority to determine in accordance with law".

4. The judge also determined that community opposition can not be a sole reason for refusal.

5. Furthermore PEP11 was previously drilled safely and there are other precedents where the operator has drilled on 2D seismic alone.

The online NOPTA NEATS portal is showing the PEP11 application at "Joint Authority Decision ".

Whats my point and whats this mean?

We can logically assume the NOPTA PEP11 application has been recommended and if it was refused it would be all over by now.

Madeleine King has to make her decision and act within the law as directed by the court which includes the NOPTA recommendation.
My personal opinion via precedents already set is that Madeleine King has no option but to approve the PEP11 application.

How does the Joint Authority lawfully refuse PEP11 application?

In my honest opinion - The only way the Federal Government get rid of PEP11 is to buyback the PEP11 title.
