Orica at Kooragang Island uses 15% of the NSW gas supply per annum. It is the primary feedstock of Ammonia production, which has powered fertiliser for food and explosives for mining critical minerals, thermal coal and metallurgical coal for decades.
There is talk of using vast arrays of electrolysers powered by solar energy for the production of green hydrogen but I honestly cant see it for decades if ever.
