    I think it's clear .. right or wrong that the direction is the renewables .. it's a force that will be difficult to suppress . and it's also clear that the Li and rare earths is something that will be pushed along to achieve that,now or in the future. To facilitate that industry will need a bucket load of energy to set up and produce these minerals in-house as they are pushing for .
    Australia depleted their ability to produce anything over the last 30 40 years ,and became reliant on the Asian neighbours to do all the dirty work and will really struggle to do that unless the costs are incentivised

    to do this we need 30 to 40 times the amount of energy by 2050

    there is only 2 places that this can come from in the short term whilst minimising the carbon footprint

    all renewables need gas to perform this with any sort of success ..
