Exactly! Hydro trumps both wind and solar tidal rivers run all day every day or damming means you can control the flow and be producing power 24/7.
Tasmania produces enough electricity from Hydro to power itself 10 times over. But we send the vast majority through to Victoria. The nation is a long way off being powered by "renewables". Gas is needed now and for the next few decades at the very least as stated over and over again by our favorite minister. When will she put her money where her mouth is the stage has been well set.
PS Tassie has a small windfarm onshore at oyster bay and i recieved a notice in the mail the other day they are looking at putting another huge one out the north of tassie in the bass straight. More power for Victoria I guess
