Personally I don't think this will have any effect on whether MK approves or declines the permit extension for a single exploratory drill outside of NSW local waters. Further approvals to get into production would be required after the drill (if successful) anyway and viability could be debated and decided upon then as a part of that process. IMO, sentiments could change if the drill is successful as it would look pretty silly to be sending gas from the region elsewhere with a looming crisis and increasing home energy bills, by that stage Advent may have formed a JV or sold out of the project entirely or had wins with the Cortical/Hydrogen Technologies investments giving them plenty of funds to work with. A lot of smoke screening going on over a small drill 26km from shore. Politicians will be politicians though and nobody wants to be seen doing nothing in the public eye.
