I'm sure Labor (just as I imagine LNP) didn't want to touch it.

Labor need Independents to maintain power of votes.
Optics supporting it works well along side increase renewable electricity generation figures coming in soon.
I'm sure with how long this has been delayed that that more and more due diligence has been done.
Also not on the top of MK list for fossil fuel works - it's all up off WA and NT.
