Soooo.. for all those interested in Zombie Zalis Bill (Stop PEP11 Forever.....) ive been able to piece together a timeline of her 2 bills: (after going through Hansard and Notice Papers)

    1. 2023 Bill
+ This Bill was introduced sometime in Feb 2023. It went through 2nd reading and remained on the Notice Papers with the same comment (Order of the day will be removed from the Notice Paper unless re-accorded priority over the next .... so many MONDAYS)
+ The next action on this Bill occurred on 29th March 2023. On this day she attempted to bring her bill onto the floor for a debate/vote. This was when Tony Burke and the Govt would not allow time for her bill and had a division of the house where she lost 47-14 (ref FAnotTA Post #: 72902163). It was the same speech in which Tony Burke stated 'under current law we have an appropriate process of being able to deal with PEP-11'.
+ At this point her bill sat in 'limbo'. The Bil remained on the Notice Paper with the same comment (Order of the day will be removed from the Notice Paper unless re-accorded priority over the next .... so many MONDAYS). Nothing more happened with her Bill.
+ By Monday 4th September (HER LAST MONDAY) her Bill was still on the Notice Paper with 4th September being the last time to 're-accorded' (
(Order of the day will be removed from the Notice Paper unless re-accorded priority on 4 September 2023.)
+ Monday 11th September - Her bill was no longer on the Notice Paper. IMO her bill was lapsed/killed/dropped.
So... Zalis 2023 Bill - DEAD on 11th September 2023.

    2. 2024 Bill
+ This Bill was tabled into the house 26th Feb and went through 2nd reading.
+ Her bill is listed on the Notice Paper for Monday 18th March. it has the same comment as last year (
Order of the day will be removed from the Notice Paper unless re-accorded priority on any of the next 8 sitting Mondays including 18 March 2024.)
If we assume that her bill will go the same process as last year - then she must request for the bill to be brought back onto the floor for debate/vote etc anytime between 18th March and the next 7 Mondays (ie 18 March to 9th Sept - thats my Calc of Sitting Mondays). It is up to the Govt to provide time just like last year on 29th March 2023 - where they defeated her request by division of 47-14. MAYBE it will have the same FATE this time? we shall see.

So.... Why did she allow her 2023 Bill to lapse and not keep pushing it? Why has she now re-introduced her NEW bill in Feb 2024??? Was she of the belief as per Tony Burke's comments that '
under current law we have an appropriate process of being able to deal with PEP-11'.

What happened between 11 September and 26th February that would put a rocket up her bleep to introduce another Bill to KILL PEP11 FOREVER???

Answer: NOPTA Recommendation on 18th October..........................................

ALL of the above is ofcourse..... in my opinion!!!!!
