I was always under the impression that the dinosaurs were wiped out due to an asteroid, impacting Earth, causing an ice age.
AS for Indigenius South Americans, I thought there demise was due to a very long drought. They were completely reliant on mono-culture. Maze.
Just goes to show that you shouldn't put all your eggs, or maze or even Dinosaurs, into one basket.
