Thank you for your email of 25th March 2024 regarding Petroleum Exploration Permit 11 (PEP-11).
As you will be aware, the Federal Court overturned the previous decision to refuse PEP-11 in February 2023. As a result, the application has been remitted back to the Commonwealth and State Joint Authority to be redetermined. Any decision will follow a comprehensive assessment of the applications by the Joint Authority.
As the applications are currently before the Joint Authority for assessment, I am unable to comment further on the matter at this time, including on specific factors that may affect decision-making timeframes. I can assure you that this matter is progressing.
