The FED's have three major problems all of which can be managed and progressed by finding a new East coast gas field like the potential PEP 11 offers
1) It needs to hold the falling inflation gains and employment gains it has made so far
PEP 11 development would add to employment and increase national productivity if gas is found and produced close to the biggest population area in Australia.
2)It needs to do things likely to reduce energy bills which was an often repeated election campaign promise
3) The FEDs need to find a replacement for the Bass Strait gas which is not producing the gas it used to produce.
Scummo proved the folly of trying to stop the teals from winning by rejecting PEP 11 and the teals won every seat he was trying to save. Get on and approve PEP11 as it is in the interests of most of Australia to do so.
