You are suggesting Mitsui and Beach will send gas from WA to NSW.

Mitsui/Beach already have a exemption for export out of WA but they have already sold the available exempt gas to BP Singapore from memory.

They would have to pipe the gas up to Karratha +1,000km and than transfer to LNG carrier and send all the way around the coast of Australia to Pt Kembla while keeping the cost under $12Gj.

This is the whole reason no one has signed up with Twiggys Pt Kembla gas terminal. They can't keep the cost under $12Gj.

Although yes they can apply for a exemption of the $12Gj but this just proves that the Federal Government Gas Mandatory Code of Conduct is an absolute failure where East Coast residents get hammered with exorbitant energy prices for natural resources we as Australia own.

I honestly don't expect any Perth Basin gas to ever land in NSW.

The problem is this gas terminal needs continuous throughput to eliminate demurrage cost.

    For example.
During COVID and the Jet fuel over supply a well known Australian fuel supplier was slugged with $20m demurrage for 3 months storage of Jet fuel offshore.

PEP11 can be proceed with a flick of a pen.
