I see many of you have been in touch with Mike Foley
Is he aware thatr the petition presented to Parliament by Zali Steggell was not accepted by the Standing Committee on Petitions.
Below is the response I received from them
I have spoken to several politicians regarding this issue and non were aware of its none compliance
As far as i am aware The Parliament was not advised of this fact. Perhaps the signatures on it were from Disney land not the East Coast

Apologies for the delay in responding to your enquiry. I’ve looked into the paper petition you were enquiring about, regarding the drilling for oil and gas off Newcastle and the Central Coast. On 6 February 2020 it was presented to the House as a document during 90 second statements by Ms Zali Steggall, prior to certification by the Standing Committee on Petitions.

The petition, which was allocatedthe number PN0462, was subsequently found by the Petitions Committee to notmeet the rules as set out in the House standing orders.

It is officially recorded as a ‘document’, not a ‘petition’ as captured in the House Votes and Proceedings. The House of Representatives Table Office now has management of this document; to request a copy you can contact them on (02) 6277 4808, and explain that you’ve been re-directed by the Petitions Secretariat.

If you have any questions regarding the points above let me know, however the Table Office is best placed to advise you on accessing the document from this point.
