I bet if you put it to the vote, Australia would go ahead with securing Gas reserves in the interim. Renewables at the moment are unreliable and need constant maintenance. To be honest, I don’t think you can go ahead and tell millions of Australians to throw away all their gas appliances and renew them with electrical ones. Most of them can’t afford it. I think in this day and age we should be looking at a mixture of renewables and nuclear power.
