I note that Labor’s Gas Strategy recommends strongly that natural gas is required now and in the future past 2050.
It is required for firming renewable , feedstock for multiple industries and for overseas countries as they move from coal fired power stations.
There is a looming shortage of gas on the East Coast and a likely cheap source of natural gas located offshore NSW called PEP 11.
What possible excuse is there for delaying the extension of the PEP 11 permit to allow drilling for a local source of much-needed gas.
This issue has been delayed far too long. Please make a decision in the national interest and approve PEP 11 extension asap.
