Their is not a huge local support against the project as not
one but two polling studies have been done in the local
areas and both were overwhelming for the project . If this
project is successful it wont reduce energy cost by a few
dollars it will dramatically reduce cost . Thirdly this is
a gas rig and Australia has one of the best environmental
records in the world . They have been gas projects in Victoria
for over 50 years without any incidents and even if there was
it would just leak gas of which it is already doing naturally.
