With reserves in Bass Strait diminishing and the strategic environment in SE Asia becoming challenging, with a certain Asian power on the rise, having a proven energy reserve a little further South than those off NW WA would be beneficial.

its time to find out if there is gas below the seabed off NSW that could benefit Australia in the long term. If Australias defence policy is geared towards combating a challenging future then its energy policy should be considering the same.
