    Hi GB

i’ve reworked your base draft, editing points to remove your renowned grammatical errors.

I’m sure the HC PEP11 group as a collective of Aussie shareholders can weave more facts and dot points into this material before you present to EH during your said hunger strike next week.

I can give KP’s office a buzz to feel out their thoughts on best step recommendations to move forward.

    Here you go…

Australia's political double standard on PEP 11 Gas Project exposed

While the Australian Federal Government extends a multi-billion-dollar lifeline to Timor-Leste's Greater Sunrise Gas Project, the Albanese Government and the ALP are delaying PEP11 approval application by Australian-based investor, Advent Energy Group, who are privately supporting Australia's future to transition to renewables natural gas energy.

Australia's recent move to expedite the Greater Sunrise offshore gas project in Timor-Leste, juxtaposed with its prolonged delays in approving the PEP11 Gas Project domestically, underscores a troubling double standard in its energy policies. The significant financial support allocated to the Greater Sunrise project, promising streamlined approvals and assistance, starkly contrasts with the regulatory obstacles hindering domestic initiatives like PEP11 Gas Project.

This disparity prompts questions into Australia's dedication to bolstering its own energy security while participating in regional collaboration. The ongoing dispute over the Greater Sunrise project, situated in the Timor Sea, has been a longstanding issue between Australia and Timor-Leste. Given Australia's newfound enthusiasm for expediting its advancement, one cannot help but wonder about the motivations behind this apparent shift in policy.

On the domestic front, the PEP11 Gas Project, offering substantial economic advantages and energy stability for Australia and in particular the East Coast with NSW the biggest beneficiary —on a publicly funded PEP11 exploration campaign on approval of same — PEP11 continues to be entangled in regulatory ambiguity and political manoeuvring, tracing back to the tumultuous tenure of former Prime Minister Scott Morrison, which culminated in his unprecedented censure and removal from office in 2024.

Additionally, a Federal Court ruling in 2023 mandated the overturning of Morrison's decision concerning the exploration of natural gas, further complicating the PEP11 Gas Project.

Despite its capacity to enhance domestic energy output and diminish dependence on imports, the PEP11 Gas Project exploration initiative encounters persistent setbacks and regulatory hurdles. This conspicuous incongruity in Australia's energy development strategy prompts enquiries into the Government's dedication to maintaining consistency and impartiality in its policies. While extending support to neighbouring nations, Australia must not overlook its own energy requirements and the prospective advantages of domestic ventures like the PEP11 Gas Project.

As Australia grapples with the intricacies of its energy policy, it must prioritise transparency, fairness, and a unified approach that advances both national interests and regional collaborations.

The approval process for PEP11 Gas Project exploration extends beyond a mere permit; it has evolved into a platform for political interference, as evidenced by the legal proceedings involving Scott Morrison in 2023. Now, in 2024, it seems the Albanese Government has not learnt from past mistakes. It's crucial for them to reflect on their vision for the future concerning PEP11 Gas Project outcomes.

Approving the PEP11 Gas Project could unlock numerous benefits for Australia, its citizens, and the east coast in particular.

Enabling successful exploration within PEP11 Gas Project could provide Australia's east coast with access to a substantial energy supply, equivalent to Timor Leste's Great Sunrise Natural Gas Project.

With this potential lying right at our doorstep in NSW, near the world's largest coal exporting port, Newcastle, and the hypocrisy of delaying the approval of PEP11 Gas Project 26 kms off the Port of Newcastle is blatantly biassed and non-progressive against our transition to renewables with natural gas being the much touted alternative to coal by the ALP during 2024.
