You need to see the big picture….the pollies need to come to the conclusion that :
Coal needs to be phased out due to its pollution. Renewables such as Solar are environmentally friendly while Wind Farms are visually and environmentally unacceptable, but unreliable. To solve the problem in the short -medium term we need Solar supported by the less polluting gas until we can develop the Nuclear solution firmed by gas/solar. Where do we get this much needed gas….Answer ….PEP !!.
I have called this The Whooshka Energy Policy….Labor was all renewables, but is now seeing gas is necessary to firm them up. Coalition supports Nuclear and Gas, but is softening on renewables, at least, Solar. I’m hoping in the near future they will both show some form of intelligence and support Gas firming Solar with the possibility of Nuclear in the 2040s, if it stacks up.
