I believe Albo is weighing up when to go to a general election with the prospect of interest rate rises in the next few months. IMO it’s too late to go in August , so we have September (grand finals). That means we have the possibility of two interest rate rises before an October or later election. He may give up on a 2024 election and hope that things improve in 2025. He will say that he believes in going full term. My bet is for a 2025 election.
This suits BPH and a decision on PEP 11 before being caught up with an election. Also, Dutton threw a spanner in the works with the Nuclear option and it will take time for Labor to strategise how to combat that electorally and how to negate the Greens. Let’s see.
