V you are confusing two different things. This announcement is about NEW exploration titles, formerly known as the "acreage release". The "approval" for these new permits are ones that have never been explored. As we know PEP11 has been around some time. PEP11 is also the only title in NSW, and it is probably going to remain that way. The 2024 acreage release, and the JA approval for PEP11, are not connected in any way. The only thing of interest is that these new titles will need to rely on old seismic being reprocessed, no new seismic testing will be permitted. For the East Coast titles, there is also a comment that any discovery will be for domestic use only, it is not clear how this will be enforced if any of these titles ever make a find.
