I had hoped this to be the case too @VstarE , but right now it looks like Squadron are trying to promote this idea that the cost of imported LNG will be comparable with domestic gas supplies.
As I said before it seems strange that the consultants at EnergyQuest or the journalist writing the article did't mention the other "option"" that exists (subject to the JA's decision and a successful discovery of course), which is the potential for PEP-11 to supply gas to the import terminal.
I mean, we only have to look at the article from March 2024 (see link below) in which David Breeze pointed to the prohibitively expensive exercise of the LNG import terminal having to resort to importing LNG from elsewhere (i.e oversees).
This is what I don't understand, would a discovery at PEP-11 be of benefit to Andrew Forest (Squadron's LNG import terminal) or would it mean he just threw $1 billion down the drain?
Did Forest seek assurances that PEP-11 wouldn't go ahead, or is he secretly rooting for it?
So many questions...
