I have spent the better part of today reading through the OPGGS Act and can conclude that once a permit has been issued as per PEP11, it is highly unlikely that the Government can revoke the license to conduct work in the prescribed area.

It is mentioned many times through the Act that to change the nature of the work program, cancel it, or alter the conditions that a period to continue work at around 12mths is mentioned. These are huge tasks that are undertaken by incumbents of leases like the PEP11 one and highly unlikely that any form of political interference is going to stick in order to alter the outcome for a political gain.

The time to stop this one tiny drill hole was when the lease was granted!

A GO FOR THE DRILL IF WE WANTED TO! Can even cite the 3+yrs of political interference that has delayed this standard process! The government would not be able to fight this in court as they would be laughed at. Time to get the shoe on the other foot in my opinion.
