Why would they be.
The opinions of minions are not a metric of consideration in the approval of a permit.
They're only of concern to gutless eunuchs masquerading as politicians.
As to political considerations in reality ( or rather imho ) this is a "local" bunfight who's only audience are either mentally challenged or specific to electorates ( state ones )
Elbow's eachwayers have a buffer in respect to time.
The local derby is between the Virtue Signallers and the Limperals. They can scream, cat call and wave feather dusters at dawn but they are all irrelevant as in the end, thet have NO say. One person does and they all are not her.
The nature of those running the joint is they like to play games. They like to talk the talk .....and talk ...and talk ( until the money's run out )... and then talk some more. The next best thing is waving the opposition's dirty nappy back in their face at any and every opportunity. Enter PEP11. This is nothing (imo) about doing the right thing as much as doing something the Libtards bottled. Classic they did X...we'll do Y. Then adopt the high and mighty persona as to show all the minions just how "proper" they are. Strangely the ideology of the incumbent lot is that of Ideals , not particularly mine, but ideals none the less.
Ideals by their nature often sit above the understanding of the common masses and so in a very strange and ironic manner PEP11 fits the bill.
This isn't about Elbow believing in Gas, or Corporate endeavour. It's not about Principle, righting wrongs or doing the right thing. Not really.
