It's a factor no doubt. But the Nats are pushing for coal hard in that area so approving a gas exploration project seems relatively insignificant in comparison. So, I struggle to determine if JB would prefer KP to give his decision before or after the by-election. On balance, it's probably after to avoid the noise. It's fair to say JB and KP aren't great mates so I guess it is still up to KP to make the call.
