So, all consumers of gas in NSW are happy to pay more for gas from elsewhere including the NW shelf off WA ? If the exploration licence was off the NSW far South coast away from major population centres I bet that it would be approved. It just highlights to me how Sydney centric the state and Federal governments are. Sometimes you just have to wear the development in your own back yard for the overall good of the people. The Hunter valley has coal mines and power stations that light up Sydney. West of the ranges we have solar and wind farms that generate electricity for use in Sydney. If gas from PEP11 will reduce my gas bill, why can't I have it ?

This is 26km of the coast line no one will see it. Talk about a hysterical reaction. We have a gas shortage and this is the answer. Happy to build ugly polluting wind turbines just of the coast though.
