Thank you for your email of 25th March 2024 regarding Petroleum Exploration Permit 11 (PEP-11).

As you will be aware, the Federal Court overturned the previous decision to refuse PEP-11 in February 2023. As a result, the application has been remitted back to the Commonwealth and State Joint Authority to be redetermined. Any decision will follow a comprehensive assessment of the applications by the Joint Authority.

As the applications are currently before the Joint Authority for assessment, I am unable to comment further on the matter at this time, including on specific factors that may affect decision-making timeframes. I can assure you that this matter is progressing.

Keep this conversation going with Jamie. Keep asking questions. She replied pretty quickly and she seems to be VERY close to the 'assessment/decision' making process. Happy to help with a lot of questions eg:

1. Is NOPTA involved in this assessment by the JA Department/s?
2. Has the Applicant been advised that there is a comprehensive assessment being undertaken by the JA Authority?
etc etc....
