There is a reason Melbournes population is larger than Sydneys now.

Lets hope pep11 pipes the gas to Vic.

Also looking at the USA, 1/3 of new generation is gas, 2/3 is solar and wind. With coal closing.

Here coal closing like USA, but not the 1/3 gas in the mix.

We will always need gas because at night, solar and wind underperform and gas is needed to bump up the supply.

That's the issue with solar, zero energy harvested at night with less on cloudy days.

100% renewables can not work. I agree coal has to go, but gas can run without co2 emissions via carbon capture and credits when it is used to make hydrogen.

Stike energy in wa are targeting hydrogen production from there gas in the west, so wa can cover there own hydrogen.

Nsw could cover the east coasts hydrogen. In many ways better placed than Vic as its central to vic and qld.

So where does Vic, nsw, qld get cheap gas and hydrogen in 3 years?

I hope the federal government are a little smarter than the nsw state government when it counts.

The nsw ban is irrelivant as federal juristiction overides state juristiction when it comes to the crunch.
