(Awaiting) Assent - Once a bill has passed both Houses (except for the exceptional circumstances under sections 5A and 5B outlined above), it is forwarded to the Governor for assent. The Governor gives assent to the bill on receipt of legal advice forwarded by the Attorney General, in his role as the first law officer, from the Solicitor General that there is no objection to giving assent.

So the Governor is probably now waiting legal advice from the AG on whether the bill is lawful or not. Normally you'd expect this would be a quick rubber stamp, but with this one, there's the Federal interplay. However, the AG might just decide to kick the can down the road with this one, where DB will be waiting with his big stick. If needed.
