Hi Bigpelican, good post and great to hear your trading plan is bringing in healthy returns. Day-traders may not be necessary, but the reality of present day markets is that they have been inundated with new players due to the accessibility of sophisticated communications and trading technologies. The amount of day-traders has exploded with the trend and the rise of the ever-eager trading guru's teaching "hit and run" trading systems has just amped everything up to where significant impact can be felt at the share price point.
Certainly agree that if the company has enough long-term holders they may be able to contain the day-traders effect of heavy SP fluctuations. This can certainly bring long term confidence in the resilience of a company and the growth of its SP. We however are in the land of high risk/ high reward junior oil & gas exploration... doesn't get more free-wheeling than that!
