It's a good time for a refresher as some users are having a bit of difficulty remembering what the ket dates and what the implications are:-

So we are approaching the key date of 30/4/25. By that day, the Government must lodge with the court all documents that Ed Husic relied upon to make his decision. THis will be very insightful and be invaluable to Advent in the preparation of their argument.
Then come the lection, and everything is on hold until the new Government is sworn in. The two key Ministers are the Attorney General and either Husic or the LNP Resouces Minister depending on who forms Government.
Once they are installed, the Government, with regard to the key deadline of 25/6/25 must decide whether it has a realistic chance of defending the complaint.
If not, mediation will commence.
If they think they do, they must lodge their defence by 25/6/25.
I believe that the existence of the caucus policy prevents the ALP from defending the case. The ALP lost the case in 2021 before it had even made it's decision.
It is a cornerstone of our justice system that a decision maker must bring an open mind to the process and the ALP did not do that. This makes their decision illegal before they even try and defend the "financial concerns" argument, which is also indefensible given the Emperor precedent.
Therefore, I believe that mediation will commence shortly after swearing in.
If I am wrong, then the milestones will get ticked off until the court hearing in September.
