THe LNP are expected to announe their energy package this week.

Dutton will be outiling jis plans for a nuclear future. The transition will need exisiting coal fired stations to remian on line ASAP with additional substantial new gas supple needed as a "firming" source.

Dutton's proposal seems to be something the punters are willing to consider.

Dutton needs to make the LNP's stance on gas and future supply clearer. I dont epxect Dutton to be as vocal as someone like Trump who openly declared "drill baby drill".

I do trust Dutton will make a subtle but clear statement regarding supply. Something like,

" We will support gas exploration that is approved and recommended by the regulatory authorities. The LNP will not play political games with Australia's energy future".

I eagerly await the announcement.

Mr Dutton says his plan will supply cheaper, more reliable energy to households and businesses.“We’ve got a credible policy that we’re putting forward, and it will transition our economy into a modern economy where we can compete with our competitor nations and stand proud in the world,” he told Sky News.But he conceded that to bring power prices down in the short-term,

“we need to bring a significant amount of gas into the system (and) coal is going to be in the system for longer than Labor’s admitting at the moment.”
