The lastest word I have received from Angloplats is as follows:
"We are still talking to both Nkwe and ARM. There will be a deal because all parties are committed to resolving this."
The impression that I have been receiving from Anglo all along is that they intend to resolve the Modikwa dispute one way or another. We know that Anglo and ARM although partners in several ventures are not currently bed friends. Meanwhile NKP waits on the outer for a resolution in order that it can start mining next year. In my opinion its Garatau Mining Right Application should get a positive response from the DMR any day.
I have no idea what exactly does a "deal" entail.
Is a "deal" a JV or some other arrangement which is beneficial to all three companies?
If a "deal" does not include a JV then maybe NKP will be able to negotiate with other interested parties as suggested on HC.
If a "deal" is done will Xstrata return with a JV counter offer?
In the meantime due to lack of a positive company announcement the sp heads to the bottom of the ocean.
I continue to wait in anticipation that this massive platinum resource WILL be exploited by NKP.
