Research Fellows at Monash University have conducted some fascinating work into the alteration associated with gold mineralisation in the Walhalla Region in 2006.
This work has been sponsored by Goldstar Resources and has involved our very own Chief Geologist - Stuart Hutchin.
The focus of the studies have been on the historic township of Walhalla within the Woods Point-Walhalla goldfield.
In short, alteration minerals and altered zones are important for determining the chemistry of mineralising fuilds and the phases of ore formation which will likely greatly aid exploration.
This is a great asset to the company which will help to optimise exploration spend.
