    Hi all,

You are right in saying that porosity is a measure of the void spaces in rock and therefore the amount of fluid it contains, however the ability of a well to flow is governed by it permeability which is a measure of the ability of fluid to flow through the rock.It is possible to have a reservoir which has high porosity (which contains a lot of oil in the voids between the rock )and zero permeability ( there is no connection between the voids and therefore no flow path.)which would make the reservoir worthless. So if you have good porosity which you appear to have , you may have a lot of oil, however the rate a which it flows will be dependent on the permeability of the reservoir and of the formation pressure created by the overburden of rock and fluid above the reservoir.

    hope this helps.
