''I'll give you a tip, no one knows what the future is''

and I'll give you a tip ---------------------- 'some' things are very predictable

like the speed with which AI has now caught out so called experts and wackadoodles as well

however there's a handful of posters on here who have been calling it for years ------------- it 'had' to be because one only needed to look at three things to tell it was doing far better than wackadoodle world thought -

    1. china's massive investment in it

    2. Nvidia's prediction about 2 to 3 years back on what the speed of it's processors would be by 2025 - and it had to be as they predicted as a minimum

    3. clearly it was the way to go, even in the very early days we had AI systems that were working pretty well - there was only one way to go from there

so as to your 'no one can predict' -------------- rubbish. The day that a robot walks in the door and you can't tell that it's different from a human - then it's all over for humans as far as labour goes

that's a gotta be within a century - it's almost a certainty in 50 years, it's highly probable in 20 years and it could burst into the door next year

the latest hoo har about AI 'should' inform people just how blind the vast majority are to the speed of progress

for anyone who doesn't get it ------------- then, they just haven't kept up with the news

by 2073 ---------- our society will be just about unrecognisable - by the end of the century - it WILL be unrecognisable
