you can't sack a contractor ---- you just stop using them.
Is it ok to not use a contractor who has political views which you don't like for your business?
Yep
If you think it will tarnish your business - don't use them - end of story.
Is this a battle of 'free speech' ? - nope - the contractor can say what they want within the laws. Simple.
Personally - I can't understand why any business at all (contractor or not) - small or large has an opinion on political matters where they could just as easily shut the hell up --- not every political issue - but, most.
Why any business at all would be interested in giving a political view about a social/political matter beats the hell out of me ---------- because whichever way you go - you upset some of your business customers.
So - I think the business that used the contractor is rather odd - but, equally I think the contractor is a prize turkey.
in business, just as it is at the dinner table --------- it is best to leave religion and politics out of the discussions.
