Glib comments of little value. Where's your time scale or awareness? Today (and my mother before me) enjoyed many privileges.
We women have equal pay (well, I did,since 1970 as a teacher), can marry and divorce, buy properties in their own name, are in management roles in Corporate Australia, access to higher education (where results indicate they achieve higher results than males), etc. You may think we are "mere possessions" but the males currently and in the past in my life have not treated me that way. My life has been enriched by their relationships with me. Mind you, I am pleased I can reject those who would do so or who would even consider me that way. They certainly wouldn't be here posting the garbage that you have here.......
