A joint mission of the World Bank, the IMF and the African Development Bank are in Cameroon for a working visit.
The mission has been holding working sessions with government authorities.
The delegation headed by Mr. Mauro Mecagni of the World Bank paid a courtesy call on the Minister of the Economy, Programming and Regional Development, Louis Paul Motaze.
After the meeting, the World Bank expert said Cameroons economy is in a better shape than it was last year and there are encouraging signs of economic takeoff.
He sited the wood sector that was badly hit by the global economic meltdown which is gradually recovering.
Mr Motaze and the joint IMF World Bank and ADB mission also discussed Cameroons capacity to finance macro projects including the Lom Pangar Dam and the Kribi Port.
The discussion was intended to examine ways by which commercial banks can finance the economy.
Officials of the financial institution are in Cameroon on a routine control mission.
