Well for a start, whos going to go to war with who? No matter what happens in the short to medium term, the US is still going to be the dominant military force on the planet. More powerful than the practically all other nations combined. Add the fact that historically democracies dont go to war with democracies (very few exceptions, the western allies declared war on Finland during WW2 for example). So that leaves just China IMO. What has China got that the Yanks want? Not much IMO.
Nuclear war? Can never be discounted but MAD, mutually assured destruction, means any nuclear exchange is likely to be limited in nature.
Like I said, sensationalist fear mongering.
