I always double bag my groceries at the self-check out (I always use self check out) with PLASTIC bags, that way I have more bags. Then, at home, I re-purpose the plastic bags for all kinds of things. Afterwards, I recycle as many of those plastic bags as possible. We have free curbside recycling, and one can also recycle them at the grocery.

When you re-purpose your paper bags, how much liquid do they hold? Can you put a quart of five day-old lentil soup left-overs in them and carry it out (w/o leakage) to feed your backyard chickens, recycle the bag in the recycling toter that's next to the coup, and eat free range eggs from healthy chickens? I can. I do- using re-purposed plastic grocery bags.

Mmm. I love eggs... fresh eggs... fried with bacon. Bacon is good. Bacon is the candy bar of meat.
