Simone Reeve talked about the burgeoning population in a programme about Madigasgar. He said that one of the main problems was that many women there were illiterate and had no access to contraceptives.

I understand that when women are educated then the birth rate goes down. The same when poverty rates are reduced.

Of course there always is the communist Chinese solution.
