    There is seldom a good guy, bad guy situation especially in the Middle East.
    Qatar has made some bold and provocative moves which threaten SA, namely a military alliance with both Turkey and Iran. The new hard line SA leaders are drawing a line in the sand.
    There are diplomatic ways out (partial concessions and some counter measures asked of SA to save face) but I think the US and certainly Australia should lobby for the sidelines (so if it goes pear shaped they are not involved in WWIII) for talks not guns. Russia/China/the useless UN can knock themselves out.

    This is a classic military power struggle not a social issue. It will be decades at least before the region progress beyond the Middle Ages.
