There is no logic in what you’re saying.

Firstly, TOL is needed now so that LAMP can prove how safe it is, and make the opposition look like a bunch of clowns.

Secondly, if the opposition got into power and was to shut down LAMP, it would need absolute scientific proof that LAMP is not safe and that the IAEA and AELB are both wrong – good luck to them on this!

Thirdly, any attempts by the opposition in government to shut LAMP down without any scientific proof would result in massive legal ramifications and a mass payout to Lynas, as perhaps already outlined in the agreement before LYC poured money into the project.

Lastly, such attempts to shut down a plant over baseless fears / safety concerns and political point scoring, would result in foreign investments in Malaysia becoming a thing of the past.

Imagine the headline around the world: “Newly Elected Malaysian Government Shuts Down Rare Earth Plant Without Scientific Proof – Foreign Companies Fearful of Flow-on Effect Pulls Out”.

    IAEA found LAMP safe.
    AELB found LAMP safe.
TOL now needed to prove to all that it is safe, so that the opposition can rejoin the circus.
