Well posters here are already confusing shale gas with CSG so it's hardly surprising people will equate UCG and CSG.
Gasland deals with shale gas. I'm convinced nothing good can come of this film for either CSG or UCG simply because any publicity is bad publicity and people don't take the time to understand the difference.
Interesting that the article linked basically clears fraccing of being the cause of contamination and puts it down to improper cement jobs in the well casing (which makes perfect sense - fraccing can't penetrate two miles of solid rock).
Since Cougar's contamination (and there was contamination bozwell, just VERY minor) was also caused by cement failure it shows where the probem lies that needs to be addressed.
Cougar needs to sort its casing issues out and make sure it doesn't happen again, ever, because we can't afford another scare.
(Disclosure: not holding at the moment, I sold a few days ago. Decided I won't get back in until the situation is more certain)
