No, the return on investment for a decent size battery is around 10 years and with warrantee of about the same time the numbers don't stack up.

But cost of batteries are coming down. With improved technology, more competition and supply, id say that in 5-10 years batteries will cost 50% less and at that cost well worth the investment.

FYI the pay back period on my solar panels is 3.5 years based on the extra power I can/do use with the solar panels and the panels have a 20-25 year life span
