or if not one person subscribed then pattersons would buy the shares, that is what under written means. Its guaranteed.

Now if every shareholder subscribed to buy 15K worth of shares that would total more then 30 million. So you may ask for the full 15k worth but due to to many people wanting to buy you may only get 5k worth, your 10k would then be refunded.

That is a basic understanding of whats happening.
